MILLS RIVER – 10/8/2024, 1:30PM

We are happy to inform you that the Mills River facility is now open and operating under normal business hours (7am-9pm). Thank you all for your patience and understanding as we worked diligently to reopen after the impact of Hurricane Helene.

Please note that we are still experiencing intermittent issues with our gate opener for parking customers. We are actively working to resolve this as quickly as possible and will keep you updated.

We greatly appreciate your support and cooperation throughout this process, and we look forward to resuming regular operations.

MILLS RIVER – 10/4/2024, 4:00PM

We wanted to provide you with an update regarding the status of our facility. While power and internet service have been partially restored, they remain inconsistent and continue to go in and out. Both services are critical for the operation of our door access code system, and until we have stable power and internet, the facility will need to remain closed for everyone’s safety.

Additionally, our home office is still without power and internet, so we are unable to respond to individual tenant inquiries at this time. We understand the frustration this may cause, and we appreciate your continued patience and understanding.

Please be reassured that after our thorough inspection, all units remain safe and secure. We will send out another update via email once we have more information on a stable reopening timeline.

Thank you for your cooperation, and we hope everyone continues to stay safe during this time.

BANNER ELK – 10/4/2024, 4:00PM

We wanted to provide a quick update following our previous communication. Power has been restored to the building, which is a big step forward. However, internet service remains spotty, and as you may know, internet connectivity is essential to operating our door access code system. We are working to resolve this as quickly as possible.

Additionally, we are coordinating with our site contractor to stabilize and grade the back parking lot, which was significantly damaged by floodwaters. Until the parking area is secure and safe for use, the facility will need to remain closed.

We’re happy to report that after a visual inspection of the building, nearly all units remain safe and dry. For those few units that experienced minor water intrusion near the loading dock, we will continue monitoring and addressing the situation.

Please note that our home office is still without power and internet, so we have limited capacity to respond to individual inquiries. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time.

We will notify all tenants as soon as it is safe to access the building and will provide another update via email once we have more information on the reopening timeline.

Thank you for your continued cooperation.

MILLS RIVER – 10/1/2024, 10:00AM

We hope this message finds you safe and well during these challenging times. As many of you are aware, our community has been severely impacted by Hurricane Helene. However, after a thorough inspection of the building, we are relieved to report that there has been no water intrusion in the building, and the front parking lot does not have evidence of any significant flooding.

At this time, we are still without power in Mills River, and for the safety of everyone, the facility will need to remain closed until power is restored. The gate for the front parking area will remain in the open position to ensure emergency access and egress as needed.

While we do not yet have an estimated time for when power will be restored, we will continue to keep you updated as we receive more information. Please rest assured that the building has been securely locked down, and all of your belongings remain safe.

Due to the current situation, our office is without phone, internet, and power, meaning we are unable to process new reservations, move-outs, or respond promptly to individual tenant inquiries. We appreciate your understanding during this time and will do our best to address any concerns as soon as conditions allow.

Please stay safe, and we look forward to reopening the facility as quickly as possible.

BANNER ELK – 10/1/2024, 10:00AM

We hope this message finds you safe. As you may know, our community has been severely impacted by Hurricane Helene, leaving catastrophic damage in its wake. Many roads remain unpassable, and recovery efforts are ongoing.

We wanted to provide an update regarding our facility. After a thorough inspection of the building, we are relieved to report that there was very little water intrusion in the building from flooding. The water impact was limited to the loading dock area and a few units just inside. Rollup unit doors are designed with rubber seals along the bottom which we hope helped mitigate water intrusion in the affected units. Thankfully, there is no evidence of any water intrusion from the roof, which is a significant relief, and the overwhelming majority of units remain dry and secure.

However, the parking lot did not fare as well. Floodwaters have washed away much of the surface near the main storage entrance, rendering that area inaccessible for the time being.

Additionally, we are still without power, and for safety reasons, the facility will remain closed until power is restored and the parking lot can be repaired. Unfortunately, we do not have an estimated timeline for when this will happen, but we will continue to keep you updated as we learn more.

Please rest assured that the building has been locked down, and all of your belongings are secure. Due to the ongoing power outage, our office is also without phone, internet, or power, meaning we are unable to process new reservations or moveouts at this time. We will also have limited ability to respond to individual tenant communications until services are restored.

In the meantime, please stay safe. We appreciate your understanding and patience as we work to reopen as quickly as possible.

NEWBERRY – 10/1/2024, 10:00AM

We are pleased to inform you that the Storage Depot – Newberry facility performed extremely well during the recent storm. There is no evidence of any water intrusion, and power was restored to the building relatively quickly. The facility is now open for tenant access during our regular business hours, 7am-9pm.

Please note that our central office is still without power, phone, and internet access at this time. As a result, we are unable to process new reservations or move-outs and have limited capacity to respond to individual tenant inquiries.

While our two other facilities in Western North Carolina did not fare as well, we are incredibly thankful that everything remains safe and secure in Newberry. We will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.

We hope you and your families remain safe, and we appreciate your patience during this time.
